It's been seven years now building the Rogue Rhino property out in San Tan Valley. I am finally at a point where I can consider rebuilding the old aquaponics system. The plan, utilize all the parts I currently have, put all of my creative juices to work, design the coolest water garden that will not only grow food and flowers, but also support waterfowl, fish, turtles and snails. All powered by solar. A holistic design that will complement the current garden structure and be an additional revenue stream.

Digging out all of the parts and pieces out of the junk pile has been an experience. Before leaving the Ranch House I built crates for all of the plastic tanks, not only for protection, but ease in transportation. After opening the crates i was surprised to see that they are in pretty good shape, no big holes or cracks. Now just getting them placed on level ground and ready for plumbing. Then waterproofing. The troughs, a different story, they are looking rough. The desert environment has been pretty destructive. I will need to find a seasoned carpenter to help us. I still want to elevate the troughs above ground for ease in servicing. Now to place the curves and straights into a workable system, it certainly won't look like its past life.

Please continue to to follow the Journal, I will keep writing as we proceed the build out!
